Portion of North Beech Street to be closed on Wednesday & Thursday

Picayune Public Works Director Eric Morris notified WRJW News late on Tuesday that a portion of North Beech Street will be closed from Wednesday at 8:30am until Thursday at 12:00 noon. Traffic will be closed in both directions and motorists should make plans to take alternate routes.
According to Morris, a culvert must be replaced on North Beech Street. The culvert is located between the old Arizona Chemical Building and the Boley Creek bridge. Morris stated the culvert "has been patched for some time, but the time has come to replace it. And to do so safely, we will need to close the road in both directions while the work is being performed."
Morris stated, "While we know this will create an inconvenience for many who use this road, we must get this culvert removed, pour concrete around it, and let it dry. We will have detour signs and personnel on hand at both ends of the road closure which will be just south of the entrance at Westchester subdivision and just north of the old Arizona Chemical location. We will have personnel at both barricade locations to assist motorists with directions on how they can take alternate routes."
