At approximately 7:05pm on Tuesday, August 15th , Picayune Narcotic Detectives conducted a traffic stop on a red Ford van on South Beech Street near Palestine Road for no tag.

According to Assistant Police Chief Jeremy Magri, Narcotic Detectives approached the vehicle and asked for valid identification cards from the occupants of the van. The suspects were identified as Cody Wayne Ladner, age 22 of 24946 Highway 43 South, Picayune; Philon Rasean McKinsie, age 34, of 603 Charlotte Drive, Picayune; and Stephenie Lynne Sims, age 31, of 664 #A White Chapel Road, Carriere.

While speaking with the three suspects, Narcotic Detectives discovered a glass pipe on the dash board containing a crystal substance on the front dash board in plain view. Detectives searched the vehicle and found a white folded up piece of paper containing a crystal substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine located in-between the driver’s seat and the front passenger seat on the floor board.

Sims, Ladner, and McKinsie refused to take responsibility for possession of the narcotics and paraphernalia. Sims and McKinsie were placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance-Felony and Possession of Paraphernalia. Ladner was arrested for the same charges and driving a vehicle with no tag.
