Picayune man arrested by MBN authorities

The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics agents and other law enforcement officers executed a search warrant Thursday evening at a Picayune residence and uncovered opioids, guns and cash according to MBN Director John Dowdy.

MBN agents arrested Wayne Thomas Wadel Jr., 58, and charged him with two counts of sale of a controlled substance and possession with intent to transfer in the ongoing drug investigation.

Agents seized approximately 50 dosage units of Oxycodone, an opioid/prescription painkiller. MBN agents also seized an undisclosed amount of bulk cash, 48 rifles, shotguns and handguns.

Director Dowdy thanked the Hancock County Sheriff Department and Pearl River County Sheriff Department, who assisted the MBN in Wadel’s arrest, for their continued partnership.

Wadel was transported to the Hancock County Adult Detention Center, where he was booked and is being held pending an initial appearance.
