A Pearl River County couple is missing; warrant issued for the husband

Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office (PRCSO) Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said the PRCSO is searching for a couple that is missing from their Pearl River County home.

Late Thursday afternoon, Ogden told WRJW News that the day before (Wednesday) they had received a call requesting a welfare check on Kathleen Bowman, age 61, who lives at 68 Owl Hoot Road, Perkinston, MS (Barth community in Pearl River County).

Ogden said that when investigators went the residence, they came in contact with her husband, Charles Eugene Bowman, age 61, and asked him about the whereabouts of his wife. Bowman told the investigators that Kathleen was on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and would be back later.

Ogden said the PRCSO investigators later received information that led them back to the Bowman residence this morning (Thursday) with a search warrant they obtained in order to possibly locate Kathleen Bowman.

During the search, investigators found what they believed to be human remains. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab was called to the location, worked the scene, and the human remains were collected and sent to the Mississippi Crime Lab where they were verified to be from a human. Ogden said the Crime Lab is trying to identify who the human matter, which contained bones, belongs to by using DNA, but that process may take a long time.

Ogden stated that the PRCSO has made several attempts to locate Kathleen and Charles Bowman, but they have been unable to locate them. According to Ogden, an active warrant has been issued for the arrest of Charles Bowman for felony aggravated domestic violence.

Ogden said if anyone has information about this case, to please call the PRCSO at 601-798-5528.
