Voting info: Absentee and Registration Deadline for November 3rd Election
Absentee voting got underway Monday in Pearl River County with a large turnout despite the rainy and windy weather. Approximately 100 absentee ballots were cast on Monday.
As noted in a previous report by WRJW News, Circuit Clerk Nance Fitzpatrick-Stokes reminds voters that there are two locations to vote absentee:
In Poplarville, voters will vote absentee in the courthouse in the area previously occupied by the Chancery Clerk.
In Picayune, voters will use the second floor conference room at the County Government Building (Chimney Square) on Goodyear Blvd.
The locations will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. utnil 5:00 p.m.
Stokes says these two locations will be open on three Saturdays to allow absentee voting:
October 3, 2020 and October 24, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon and October 31,2020, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Absentee voting ends at 5:00 p.m. on October 31, 2020.
Stokes stated that residents must present a driver’s license or a state issued photo id from the state Mississippi. Voters should wear a mask due to COVID-19 guidelines.

Are Registered to Vote?
The deadline to register to vote in the November 3rd General Election is Monday, October 5, which is approximately two weeks away. The deadline to register to vote in the general election is October 5, 2020 at 5:00 pm.
