Poplarville church destroyed by fire

First United Pentecostal of Poplarville burned yesterday morning around 10 a.m. The main campus of the First United Pentecostal Church on North Main Street was destroyed by fire.

Firefighters and first responders from miles away responded in mutual aide to Poplarville Fire Department to combat the blaze. Community members not affiliated with any agency assisted firefighters to help control the blaze. The adjacent buildings were saved and the fire was contained due to the efforts of all involved.
