Picayune Police make narcotics related arrest during search warrant

Picayune Police Department Assistant Chief Dustin Moeller provided information on an arrest recently made by the Picayune Police Narcotics Division.

Moeller said as part of an ongoing investigation dubbed “Operation Fresh Start”, narcotic detectives with the Picayune Police Department obtained and executed a search warrant on a residence at 303 East Third Street in Picayune on March 6, 2020.

As a result of the search, the detectives recovered Marijuana, Oxycodone, and Heroin along with a substantial amount of U.S Currency according to Moeller. Moeller stated that the currency was a result of sales of narcotic substances from the residence.

Detectives arrested Deangelo Durr, age 42, at the scene and he was charged with three counts of Conspiracy To Sell a Controlled Substance, three counts of Sale of a Controlled Substance (felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, and two counts of Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon according to Moeller.

Moeller said Durr’s bond was set at $177,000.00.
