Picayune cruises past Hurricanes

Picayune – Picayune built a 42-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 55-0 win over the West Harrison Hurricanes behind four touchdowns and two interceptions by Chris Davis.

While the Maroon Tide defense was forcing three punts on West Harrison’s first three possession, Davis scored on Picayune’s first offensive snap from 58 yards out. On the next set of downs, Davis scored from 5 yards outs, and added a 12 yard touchdown run on the next Maroon Tide possession.
On the next two West Harrison possessions, Davis intercepted a pass on each one. After the first interception, Darrell Smith scored on a 51 yard run and Niquis Ratcliff scored on a 14 run after the second one.
After a West Harrison punt, Davis struck again with a 29 yard touchdown run.
In the second half, Ratcliff scored on a 5 yard run and Smith raced 82 yards for the final Maroon Tide touchdown.
Picayune (8-0, 4-0) hosts George County on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
