Nicholson VFD Chief arrested by PRCSO
The Nicholson Volunteer Fire Department Chief was arrested April 29th by investigators with the Pearl River County Sherriff’s Office (PRCSO).
According to PRCSO Chief Investigator Major Marc Ogden, the Sherriff’s Office received a complaint on April 22nd from the father of a 13 year old female after seeing inappropriate contact with an adult male on her Snapchat social media account.
After further investigation, including an interview with the suspect, investigators arrested Randolph Burge, age 42, of 63-A Davis Dawsey Road, Picayune, and booked him in to the Pearl River County Jail on one count of Exploitation of a Child.
According to Major Ogden, the investigation is still ongoing as there may be other juvenile females that were in contact with Burge on Snapchat and additional charges could be applied to Burge in the future as the investigation continues.
The PRCSO encourages all parents to monitor their children’s social media accounts and phones and report any suspicious activity to their local law enforcement agencies.
