Father arrested for stabbing his son
According to a press release from Picayune Police Department Captain Rhonda Poche-Johnson, Picayune Police patrol officers were dispatched to a call concerning a stabbing that had occurred on Interstate 59 southbound between mile markers 4 and 6 on May 25 at approximately 12:23 p.m.
When officers arrived, they were able to determine that a verbal dispute in the vehicle had occurred. Officers ascertained that the front seat passenger, Glenn Dysart, age 66, of 31 Emmett Meitzler Road, Picayune, grabbed the steering wheel during the dispute with the driver, and at that time, a passenger in the back seat, Dysart’s son, attempted to stop the older Dysart from grabbing the steering wheel. Dysart then pulled out a knife and slashed his son with the knife.
The victim was transported to Highland Community Hospital where he was treated but did not require surgery.
Dysart was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.
