City receives donation of smoke detectors
The City of Picayune received a donation of 100 smoke detectors to be given to residents of the City who contact the Fire Department to be placed on an installation list. The smoke detectors were donated by Glen Neal, Jr. and family as a way to protect members of our community whose homes are not covered by smoke detectors.
Mr. Neal was moved to act with his donation by a situation that occurred recently in Slidell that sadly claimed four lives.
Renters should contact their landlords if their properties do not currently have smoke detectors.
These 100 donated detectors will go fast, so city residents must get on the list with the Fire Department as soon as possible. Call (601) 799-0614.
