City of Picayune suspends recycling program until further notice

The curbside recycling program for the City of Picayune is suspended until further notice. This comes about due to an increase in residential waste and a shortage in personnel by the contractor, resulting from COVID-19.

Therefore, residents now need to dispose of recyclables as they would any other residential waste. The recycling trucks will not be collecting recyclables separately on Wednesdays. Any recyclables placed curbside on Wednesdays will have to be added to your household waste on the next garbage collection day.

If you have questions about recycling you can call Public Works Department at 311 or 601-799-0602.

The city of Picayune extends its apology for any inconvenience and appreciates its residents patience during these difficult times.
