Maroon Tide remains unbeaten with 61-7 win over PRC

Picayune---Cameron Thomas scored six times to lead the Picayune Maroon Tide past Pearl River Central 61-7 at Lee-Triplett Stadium.

On the first play from scrimmage at the Maroon Tide 25, senior quarterback Jakail Myers threw a perfect pass to Thomas who caught the ball near midfield and the senior tailback raced down the sideline for a 75 yard touchdown.

Thomas scored twice more in the quarter on runs of 66 and 67 yards. He added 6 and 20 yard touchdown runs in the second quarter and Myers threw a 49 yard touchdown to Jashawn Lee to give the Maroon Tide a 41-0 halftime lead.

Pearl River Central got on the scoreboard when Detrich Spikes returned the second half kick off 82 yards for a touchdown.

Thomas scored again on Picayune’s next possession with a 72 yard run, his 29th rushing touchdown on the season.

Austin Samples scored on a 12 yard touchdown run with :32 left in the third quarter.

Dorian Robinson closed out the scoring for Picayune with a 28 yard touchdown.

Thomas finished with 9 rushes for 282 yards. Samples had 55 yards on 8 carries.

Ty Herring lead Pearl River Central with 16 carries for 70 yards. The Blue Devils (3-6, 2-3) will be at home on Friday against East Central.

Picayune (9-0, 5-0) will host Pascagoula on Friday.
