Local man arrested for numerous charges

On July 8, 2019, Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to #6 Cheetah Lane, Picayune, in reference to the report of domestic violence in progress.

According to Sheriff David Allison, Narcotic’s Deputies were also in the area and responded to assist with the call due to the fact the caller stated the male involved in the domestic assault had a firearm as well.

Upon arrival, Deputies came in contact with James Harvey, age 31, of the same address. After an investigation, Harvey was placed under arrest for Domestic Violence and Possession of Marijuana.

Narcotic’s Deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the search, Deputies recovered methamphetamine, a firearm, digital scales, plastic bags, and other items that indicated that the sale and distribution of a controlled substance was being conducted inside the residence.

Sheriff Allison said Harvey was transported to the Pearl River County Jail where he was booked on charges of Simple Assault Domestic Violence, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and Felony Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute.
