Picayune Police Department investigating an apparent drive by shooting


The Picayune Police Department is investigating an apparent drive by shooting that occurred early on Thursday, April 11th. Assistant Chief Dustin Moeller issued the following press release in regards to the incident.

“On April 11, 2019, at approximately 6:00 a.m., officers with the Picayune Police Department were dispatched to the area of South Beech Street near the intersection of Williamsburg Road in reference to a drive by shooting. During the course of the investigation, officers learned that the victim was stopped at the stop sign located at South Beech Street and Williamsburg Road behind a white Chevrolet 4 door sedan. At this time, an occupant of the sedan opened fire at the victim’s vehicle striking it several times before fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed. The victim was not injured in the incident.”
