Luke Smith tossed a 3 hitter on the mound with 8 strikeouts to keep the Maroon Tide in the hunt for a playoff berth.

Head Coach Cody Stogner was pleased with Smith's performance at Kent Kirkland Field.

"Luke was a warrior tonight. He dominated the strike zone and allowed his defense to work behind him. It was a must win game and his performance on the mound was the spark we needed to get the W”.

Jakail Myers had a triple for Picayune (8-8, 2-3) while Chad Stockstill and Chad Dudenferer had a single. North Pike (6-5, 1-3) will host Picayune on Friday in Summit.

Pearl River Central 7 Hattiesburg 0

Pearl River Central went to Hattiesburg and Austin Dean made the drive enjoyable when he blanked the Tigers.

Dean drew high praise from Head Coach Neil Walther. "Austin had command of three pitchers and used them all to fill up the zone. We fed off his performance."

Hayden Dunhurst had a home run and Mason Treat added 3 hits for the Blue Devils who improved to 14-4 overall and 4-1 in district.

PRC will host Hattiesburg (10-6, 2-2) on Friday.
