Pearl River basketball announces fourth annual All-Star Showcase

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River basketball is excited to highlight local talent next month.

The school announced Friday it is hosting its fourth annual High School All-Star Showcase on Tuesday, April 2.

The showcase will be held on campus at Marvin R. White Coliseum and will feature high school players from the six county school districts that compose PRCC’s region.

“When I first got here, Chris Oney and I talked about doing some things in the community and we came up with an All-Star tournament,” Pearl River women’s basketball coach Scotty Fletcher said. “We wanted to give back to the community and the six counties that represent PRCC.

“This is our way of telling those young student athletes that did things the right way that they get rewarded.”

The showcase opens at 5:30 p.m. with the girls underclassmen game. The boys underclassmen will play at 6:30 p.m., with the two senior games set for 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $8.
