POPLARVILLE, Miss.— Pearl River sophomore Brandon Rachal (Natchitoches, La.; Natchitoches) has been named the MACJC's Men's Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

The LSU transfer is coming off of his best week in the maroon and gold after averaging 25.5 points per game in a 72-70 win over East Central and a narrow 91-88 OT loss at Jones College.

Against the Warriors, Rachal scored 22 points on 9 of 12 shooting from the floor with seven rebounds, one assist and one steal. The sophomore then scored a season-high 29 points with seven rebounds as No. 7 PRCC rallied late to force overtime in Ellisville.

Tuesday's award marks Rachal's second Player of the Week honor.
