PRCC women’s soccer focuses on quality with 2019 signing class

POPLARVILLE — Pearl River women’s soccer coach Jack Byrd announced the addition of three new Lady Wildcats on Friday, the second day of the 2019 signing period.

PRCC’s early signees include fullback Bailey Riddley, midfielder Brooke Geist and forward Tylee McCann.

“We have covered our three biggest needs in athleticism, communication and knowledge of the game with Bailey, Brooke and Tylee,” Byrd said.

Geist will join PRCC after a standout prep career at West Harrison, where she’s coached by Todd Moniz.

“Brooke posses a fantastic knowledge of the game and will bring immediate leadership to the squad,” Byrd said.

McCann is an addition who should step in immediately and contend for big minutes as a freshman in 2019. She’s coached at GCHS by Janna Maxwell.

“Tylee has devastating speed that will cause issues for opposing backlines,” Byrd said. “She’s a fantastic kid. The sky is the limit for Tylee.”

Riddley signed with PRCC after prepping at Clinton, where she’s coached by Thomas Bobo.

“Bailey is a shutdown defender who posses the ability to carry the ball forward in an attacking role,” Byrd said. “She brings a much needed speed element that we sorely missed this past season.”

The PRCC women advanced to the second round of the MACJC Tournament this year and finished with an 8-8-1 overall record.
