PRCC Welcomes All Wildcats Home

All Locations - Pearl River Community College looks forward to welcoming students, alumni, and community members to the Poplarville campus Saturday, October 20, for Homecoming 2018.

In addition to the homecoming luncheon and carnival, PRCC will host the dedication of the Alumni House to Mrs. Verlene Cole, and recognize the 2018 State Championship baseball team.

Sophomore, Cammie Moree of Sumrall, was elected homecoming queen and will be crowned at halftime of the game against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

The Court includes Cameryn Jones, Wiggins; Hancock sophomore Olivia Gex, Kiln; Forrest County freshman Cambri Brewer, Petal; Poplarville freshman Doris Ledet, Columbia; Forrest County sophomore Sarah-Ashlyn Barber, Picayune; Hancock sophomore; Kaitlyn Cranmer, Diamondhead; Poplarville sophomore Addison Smith, Poplarville; Poplarville freshman Savannah Byrd, Picayune.

Homecoming activities begin at 8:00 a.m. Oct. 20 with the 5K race at the wellness center. The Dedication of the PRCC Alumni House to Mrs. Verlene Cole will follow at 10 a.m.

Also at 10 a.m. the Cheer Clinic (including mini campers and alumni) will take place in the Marvin R. White Coliseum.

The Voices Ensemble will then perform under the Alumni Gazebo at 10:30 a.m.

The Homecoming luncheon will be held in the Olivia Bender cafeteria at which time PRCC’s Sports Hall of Fame induction, and honoring of the Distinguished Service Award Winner and Alumnus of the year will be held. Honorees include standout baseball player Ashley Graeter of Poplarville; star soccer player, Lyndsey Lee of Picayune; standout football player, Ed Porter III of Bay St. Louis; and star basketball player James Singleton. Mrs. Shannon Estep will be receiving the Distinguished Service Award and Mrs. Glenda Floyde Robbins will receive Alumnus of the Year.

Also at 11 a.m. the annual free Homecoming Carnival will be kicking off on the Football Practice field. The carnival will include games, inflatables, prizes, and picture opportunities with the homecoming court and the cheer clinic performing at around 1:20 p.m. Food will be available for purchase.

PRCC will also be hosting a maroon and gold baseball game at The Dub at 10 a.m. The presentation of the 2018 State Championship rings will take place at 1:00 p.m. on the baseball field.

The Hall of Fame, Alumnus of the Year and Distinguished Service Award recipients will be recognized on the field before kickoff of the PRCC Wildcats-MGCCC Bulldogs game at 2 p.m.

The homecoming court will be presented at half-time.

PRCC welcomes all Wildcats new and old to come home to the Poplarville campus for fun, festivities, and fellowship.
