Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit makes two arrests
Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison provided WRJW News with details of two narcotic related arrests made recently by investigators of the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office (PRCSO) Narcotics Unit while on patrol.
Sheriff Allison said that on the evening of March 26th, the PRCSO Narcotics Unit observed a red 2002 Ford F-150 traveling at a high rate of speed while making a wide turn and failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign in the area of East Canal Street and North Steele Avenue in Picayune.
Investigators conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of East 2nd Street and North Gray Avenue. Upon speaking with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Troy Egana, age 25, of 3926 Highway 43 North, Picayune, investigators notice the odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle and began a search of the vehicle.

During the search of Egana’s vehicle, investigators located a black pack back in the back seat of the vehicle that contained Marijuana which was packaged for resale, bulk Marijuana in plastic bags, and a digital scale.
Egana was arrested and transported to the Pearl River County Jail where he was booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and incarcerated.
On the evening of March 28th, the PRCSO Narcotics Unit observed a 2002 Ford Expedition driving down the center of the road on Rosa Street near Davis Street in Picayune. Investigators attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver failed to stop the vehicle and turned onto Davis Street headed southbound and accelerated, according to Sheriff Allison.
At the intersection of Davis Street and Weems Street, the driver appeared to be stopping the vehicle, and as an investigator prepared to exit his vehicle, the driver drove off headed southbound on Davis Street. After passing Jarrell Street, the driver accelerated the vehicle to the intersection of Davis Street and Jackson Landing Road, and turned west onto Jackson Landing Road and then stopped the vehicle. As the occupants of the vehicle began moving around suspiciously inside the vehicle, investigators ordered the occupants out of the vehicle one by one.
One of the occupants, identified as Rahien Lyons, age 27, of 534 Easterbrook Street, Bay St. Louis, MS, exited the vehicle from the back seat, at which time, investigators observed a large bag of Marijuana near his feet. All of the subjects were detained and a search of the vehicle yielded the large of Marijuana where Lyons was sitting. Lyons told the investigators that the Marijuana was his.
Sheriff Allison stated that Lyons was arrested, transported to the Pearl River County Jail where he was booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance and incarcerated.
