Blue Devils top Picayune 19-2

Picayune--Pearl River Central used two big innings and solid pitching from Rigel Robinson to beat Picayune 19-2 on Tuesday at Kent Kirkland Field.

The Blue Devils scored three runs in the first on an RBI double by Austen Izzio, an RBI single from Eli Lee, and an RBI sacrifice fly from Caleb Tynes.

Picayune (8-8, 0-5) answered with two runs in the bottom of the first on four hits. Kyler Lauga singled, Shaun Anderson doubled him home, and Chad Stockstill singled to left to bring in Anderson.

PRC (13-3, 5-1) put up six runs in the second with Eli Lee clearing the bases with a double to right center. The Blue Devils added ten runs in the top of the fifth to put the game away.

Robinson struck out 10 batters, scattered six hits, and walked two in going the distance to gain his sixth win of the season against no losses.

The two teams are scheduled to play again on Thursday in Carriere, weather permitting.
