Traffic stop leads to two narcotic arrests

Joshua Charles Snyder Aybreana Moon Lepine

On January 6th, at approximately 8:00pm, a Picayune Police officer conducted a traffic stop at Crosby Street and Palestine Road on a vehicle for improper equipment, no tag light.

The officer made contact with the driver of the vehicle, identified as Joshua Charles Snyder, age 25, of 34030 Cottonwood Lane, Slidell, LA, and the passenger, identified as Aybreana Moon Lepine, 23, of 302 Carroll Street, Picayune. While speaking with Snyder and Lepine, the officer noticed that both suspects were acting extremely nervous, and at times, Snyder was visibly shaking. The officer also observed that Snyder’s breathing and rate of speech was extremely fast. The officer asked Snyder to exit the vehicle and at this time, a female officer arrived at the scene to assist the officer already on the scene.

The officer conducted a pat-down on Snyder for officer safety and located a blue pipe commonly used to smoke Marijuana in his left front jacket pocket. The officer received consent to search the vehicle. During the search, he located seven pills identified as Adderall in a sunglass case located on the front floorboard of the truck on the passenger side. Upon speaking with the subjects, both Snyder and Lepine denied knowledge or ownership of the Adderall pills.

At this time, Lepine was taken in custody. Both Snyder and Lepine were transported to the Criminal Justice Center, booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony), and incarcerated.
