Man arrested for wanting to trade narcotics for sexual favors

Picayune Police Department Assistant Chief Jeremy Magri told WRJW News that on December 19th at around 3:15 p.m., Narcotics Detectives conducted an undercover narcotic operation at a local business.

Magri said Glen Paul Batiste, age 31, of 533 Red Bud Lane, Slidell, LA, contacted undercover personnel and advised them that he would give them what he identified to be as Marijuana and liquid Codeine (a Schedule 2 Narcotic), at a local business for the intent of sexual favors and for distribution.

The Narcotics Division set up a perimeter at the local business while the undercover personnel got into position to monitor the operation. Batiste arrived on the scene in a 2015 maroon Dodge Ram truck, at which time the undercover personnel made contact with him. Batiste provided the undercover personnel with one bag containing a green leafy substance believe Marijuana and a red liquid believed to be liquid Codeine.

At this time, undercover Narcotics Detectives apprehended Batiste and he was placed under arrest for two counts of Conspiracy to Transfer a Controlled Substance within 1500 feet of a church and Transfer of Control Substance within 1500 feet of a church for Soliciting Prostitution according to Magri.

Narcotics Detectives then conducted a search of Batiste’s vehicle and they located one glass pipe, which contained a burnt residue, and one large red bottle containing at red liquid believe to be liquid Codeine underneath the front seat. The pipe was believed to be used for inhaling Marijuana.

Narcotic Detectives then subsequently charged Batiste for the Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute within 1500 feet of the church. He was then transferred to Criminal Justice Center where he was booked and incarcerated on the charges.
