PRC hosts Hattiesburg on Friday for homecoming game
Pearl River Central will play what many believe is the best team in Class 5A football state wide when the Hattiesburg Tigers (6-0, 2-0) come calling on Friday night at Kenneth L. Hendrix Stadium in Carriere.
Looking back to last week's game, PRC Head Coach Larry Dolan was pleased with his team's play last week against Wayne County despite losing 28-14.
"I thought we ran the ball extremely well, our passing game was good, and we did a good job keeping Wayne County's offense off the field in the second half, " Dolan stated. "That's our key to being in ballgames is to play keep away."
"Last week, we had some guys go both ways. Orlando Malley did that and had his best game. Our young quarterback (Cameron Brunson) is growing into the role and getting better. I was pleased with the effort, and you hate to be too happy with a loss, but our kids felt they had accomplished something in playing a more complete game," Dolan explained.
Looking the Tigers, Dolan shared, "Very good offensively. I see no weaknesses. They can throw it, they can run it, line up in two tight ends, five wide, two backs. They are just an explosive team."
The Blue Devils (0-6, 0-2) have been playing better each week and Dolan said he and his team "just have to worry about ourselves and give our best effort."
You can listen to PRC Blue Devil football on wrjwradio.com and the WRJW smart phone app. Scooter Black will handle the play by play this week (sitting in for Eli Ouder), Jim Eastridge (color analyst), and Timmy Craft (sideline reporter).
