City issues notice of water service interruption for Wednesday, September 13th

The City of Picayune's Office of Public Works has scheduled a water service interruption for Wednesday, September 13th (tomorrow) beginning at 9:00am. Contractors will be tying in a newly installed water line. Residents in the following areas will be without water for approximately 8 hours:

• Tung Tree Drive

• Dogwood Lane

• Idlewild Drive

• Glenwood Street

• Fifth Ave.

Note: Picayune Jr High and Picayune Memorial High School are not impacted. Also,residents in adjacent areas may experience low pressure during the 8 hour period.

Once repairs are completed, officials will be collecting water samples for testing and will send them to the State Department of Health for testing. During this time, a Boil Water Notice will be in effect until the City of Picayune receives the all clear from the State.
