Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Conducts Drug Round Up


On Tuesday, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators along with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics conducted a drug roundup operation across Pearl River County.

Over the past months, members of the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and agents with Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics made numerous controlled purchases of illegal narcotics from suspects across Pearl River County. Suspects targeted in this investigation are mid – to street level drug dealers. During this investigation, approximately 72 felony arrest warrants were secured for 24 suspects. The majority of the cases involve the sale of heroin, methamphetamine, and prescription narcotics.

The suspects arrested are as follows: 1) Jeremy Antoine, age 30, of 117 Lion Church Road, Carriere, for Sale of a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Sell a Controlled Substance. 2) Jarod Antoine, age 27, of 340 Sycamore Road, Picayune, for Sale of a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Sell a Controlled Substance. 3) Wayne Ellis, age 30, of 28 Spring Hill Road, Picayune, for 4 counts for Sale of a Controlled Substance and 4 counts for Conspiracy to Sell a Controlled Substance. 4) Derek Jarrell, age 35, of 11 Fritz Jarrell Road, Picayune, for Conspiracy to Sell a Controlled Substance. 5) Josh Mitchelll, age 28, of 9613 Hwy 11, Poplarville, for Sale of Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Sell a Controlled Substance. 6) Jason Gray, age 39, of 28 John Amacker Road, Poplarville, for Sale of Controlled Substance and Conspiracy to Sell a Controlled Substance. 7) Shane Lamartina, age 30, of 88 Herb Lee Fred Spiers Road, Carriere, for 3 counts Sale of Controlled Substance and 3 counts of Conspiracy to Sell a Controlled Substance. 8) Sherri Clemmens, age 44 of 171 Ozona Road, Carriere, for 3 counts Sale of Controlled Substance and 3 counts of Conspiracy to Sell a Controlled Substance. 9) Justin Darnell, age 27, of 130 Ruston Road, Carriere, for 3 counts Sale of Controlled Substance and 3 counts of Conspiracy to Sell a Controlled Substance.

On Tuesday, while attempting to locate wanted suspect Jarod Antoine, PRCSO Deputies and MBN Agents came into contact with Chuck MaGee and Kelly White from 340 Sycamore Road Carriere. During this incident, MaGee came to the door with methamphetamine in his possession, and the strong smell of burnt marijuana was detected coming from inside the residence. The residence was secured and a search warrant was obtained. During a search of the residence methamphetamine, multiple digital scales, baggies, marijuana, paraphernalia, .22 cal 1911 pistol and evidence showing the sales of illegal narcotics had been taking place from the residence. Magee was arrested for possession of Controlled Substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and accessory after the fact to a felon in possession of a weapon. White was arrested for possession of Controlled Substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. In addition to their arrests, $3416.00 in US currency, 2 vehicles and a firearm were seized from the suspects (shown below) Justin Darnell, age 27, of 130 Ruston Road, Picayune, was being arrested on his warrants, he was found to be in possession of a .357 caliber pistol and was charged with possession of a weapon by a felon. When checking a location for one of the wanted violators, Deputies came into contact with Joanna R. Lee age 37, of 22440 Mitchell Road Picayune. It was found that Lee was wanted by PRCSO for Simple Assault Domestic Violence. She was arrested and taken into custody without incident. When locating wanted subject Shane Lamartina, Kayla Stapleton, age 26, of 298 Pea Ridge Road Picayune, was located and found to have several warrants. Stapleton was arrested for trespassing, stalking, and petit larceny. Pearl River County Sheriff’s Deputy Shane Tucker gave his thoughts on the operation. “Anytime we conduct an operation like this, we’re always pleased when everyone can come away without being hurt.” Tucker also expressed his thanks towards the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics for providing assistance stating “I’m also thankful in the end that the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics was able to provide us with so many agents to assist us
