The Bearcats (5-2, 2-1) lost at home last week to Wayne County 48-42 in overtime. Long Beach led 28-14 in the third quarter, but three costly turnovers allowed Wayne County to rally for a 35-28 lead. The Bearcats scored the next fourteen points to lead 42-35 with just over four minutes left in the game, but Wayne County tied the game with :36 left in regulation and won it in overtime by scoring after Long Beach failed to score on its first possession.
