Picayune pounds D'Iberville 31-10

Picayune -- There was a partial power outage in the first half on Friday night at Lee-Triplett Stadium, but the Maroon Tide was not phased and displayed some power football in pounding the D'Iberville Warriors 31-10.

Picayune scored first taking advantage of a bad snap in punt formation by the Warriors that forced the punter to jump on the ball at their own 8. Two plays later, senior Shaun Anderson scored around left end and Sami Nagi kicked the point after for a 7-0 lead with 10:05 left in first quarter.

Picayune forced another punt and put together a 13 play drive, but fumbled the ball into the end zone for a touchback.

Jeremiah Stallings got the ball back with an interception, but the Maroon Tide turned the ball over on downs with an incomplete pass at the Warrior 39.

After the teams exchanged punts, Picayune's defense stopped the Warriors on fourth down at the Tide's 47.
